Turmeric has powerful healing benefits! Turmeric root's best known and most studied active ingredient is curcumin, a powerful antioxidant. The curcumin content of turmeric is only around 3% by weight, and it is poorly absorbed into the bloodstream on its own. In order to increase the healing benefits of the turmeric you eat, use a bit of black pepper and some fat to activate the curcumin. This quick and delicious latte is a simple way to get more anti-inflammatory healing power into your day.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup organic coconut almond milk

  • ½ tsp organic turmeric powder*

  • ½ tsp raw local honey

  • Freshly cracked black pepper to taste [just a few turns on the grinder will work]*

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a small saucepan.

  2. Warm on low heat, stirring constantly. Do not boil.

  3. Pour into your favorite mug and enjoy!

*May substitute activated turmeric paste [recipe HERE].
